This is an expense manager, a budget manager should have a column #Budgeted Amount and #Actual Amount where a formula subtracts the two to see how much you have available to spend in each category. A second database such as an expense manager with a file upload column should be a relational database to the budget manager so you can upload receipts and date transactions.

Thank you, Francesco! What formula would I use for a running account balance? I'm starting with a balance of $12,415. The formula I use only works on the first entry. Subsequent entries continue to use the $12,415 to add (or subtract) from. I want subsequent entries to use the last balance to add or subtract from. Here's my formula: add(12415, prop("P/L ($)")). It's adding my starting balance to my profit/loss column. Ideas?

Notion is great but I still haven't found a way to create an expense table to manage separate budgets in different tables and then be able to automatically calculate if I have losses in each of the projects associated with each of the tables, and be able to control the expenses of each project.
Notion seems limited when using formulas that relate boxes from different tables, and even within the same table. Very limited compared to Excel

Thank you for this. However, I’m still struggling with basic basic Notion knowledge. I’d like a slower paced tutorial of how to use the tables; keystroke by keystroke. For instance how to enter in numbers, what are properties, how to use them and how to enter in information for someone whose never seen something like this. I cant be the first! Ive spent all evening trying to set up a simple table but I just don’t get how to work the properties.Thanks!!

I just started using notion and I like it a lot but I can’t seem to find a good setup for projects, can you please do a video on project management? Notion lacks templates nor can I find any other resources on how to do this in a way that’s worked for me

Using notion to manage 5 different clients, with estimated and actual time for each task which is passed on to the finances dept for billing. The finance dept then should see all billables for that month, and the gm should see billable sum that month. So using notion for a service based business in short 🙂

Would you be able to go more in-depth to how you use a finance tracker / budget since in the layout you seem to still use this in someway or another. I recently finishes uni and moving into the adult life where paying for things become life. it would be great to see how you deal with tracking income and budgeting bills and other stuff like that.

I don't understand why you wouldn't just do a spreadsheet and add it to Google Drive or save it in Evernote Or indeed Notion. Seems like a lot of work for something that already exists… Or am I missing?something.

Definitely product management! It would be cool to design a system that cha manage an entires tasks on notion, because I feel like it's a bit non intuitive. Love the vids man <3

This series has potential.
I think I would prefer it if it was 2 videos per challenge.
– The first one you build the notion setup.
– Then you use the setup for a week or 2.
– The second one you explain what changed since the first video in the setup and why.
